My 2 Girls

Karly...at almost 10 months old

- She can now say Da-Da ... Hi .. and Boo!

- Working on tooth #7, #8

- Has mastered Patty Cake *Patty Cake, Roll em up, and throw them in the pan!*

- Knows bits of the itsy bitsy spider

- LOVES peek a boo...favorite part is ripping the blanket off of Daddy's head and giggling wildly
But she gets in on the fun too.. when you say "Where's Karly?!" .. she covers her eyes with her hands and then peaks out... ADORABLE!

- Is becoming a copy cat! Will mimic you when you stick out tongue, growl, blow raspberries, Indian call.. (just a few!)

- Cruises around furniture like a pro- lets go a little but still isn't brave enough to take the plunge

- She loves to wave and tell people hi

- Her face lights up with huge smiles when someone enters a room. (especially if that someone is her Papoo or her sister)

- She follows Rylee around everywhere and wants to do what she is doing, touch what she is touching..etc. I think it is adorable.. Rylee finds it a bit annoying but will sometimes humor her.

Karly just has a glow about her.. she is the happiest baby ever and her smiles are contagious. Just being in her presence can make even the worst day great again! She is such an easy baby! I think my favorite part about her is...she has a way of not just smiling with her mouth.. but with her eyes. You can see her smile through her gorgeous shiny eyes before you even see the rest of her face. I'm not just saying this because I am her Mommy and I am proud. She really is a precious angel and a blessing to be around.

Rylee...2 yrs, 11 months old

- Still has a huge vocabulary. She remembers all words that she hears... the other day while eating ice cream she told me it was "delightful and delectable". No really.

- Rylee has been planning her 3rd birthday since the day after her 2nd birthday (no joke) but is getting more and more excited as it actually draws near. Everyday we talk about her Tinkerbell birthday she is to have and she reminds me that her birthday is April 21st and she will be this many (holding fingers up) which is 3!

- LOVES her "library school" which is story hour at the library. She loves all the kids and the teacher (librarian). She wants to go to real school so much!

- She is super excited about soccer starting again. Late at night when I check in on her I find her fast asleep with her soccer socks on pulled up to the knees. She gets in her drawer and puts them on before bed..sweet girl, following in Mommy's footsteps!

- She is very into playing with baby dolls. She is an expert Mommy and does all the things she knows to do. Some nights I have to tuck in 11 of her dolls with her or else she can't sleep. And speaking of babies she has been telling me a lot lately... "Tomorrow, when I wake up- you will have a BOY baby in your tummy!".......UM....UM... how about NO!? Give me some time kid! LOL

- Rylee still has a HUGE memory and imagination. Those two combined create quite the party around here. We have a never ending supply of imaginary friends hanging out around our house, with whom she has big conversations and lots of play dates with. Sometimes she acts out her own scenario.. sometimes it is a recent episode of Dora or some other cartoon - Word for Word!

Rylee has a way of making people laugh. The things that come out of her mouth make most do a double take. She has been this way since she started talking but as she gets older, it just gets better and more hilarious! I think one of my favorite things (recently) about her is how she has never met a stranger. She likes people and really does not have a shy bone in her body. She is so excited about other kids.. ones she has never even met before... she goes up to them and starts talking like she has known them for years. It is so cute to watch her go up to a kid she has never laid eyes on and say something to them like..."Hey friend! How about we go to the slide?" Really.. she calls them all "friend" instead of asking for their name. How adorable is that? I love that she is such a social butterfly and so outgoing. I am so proud that we are raising such a beautiful, smart, out-going, hilarious little girl!

Quick funnies

Yesterday, Rylee would not come into the kitchen to get her breakfast. I was calling and calling her. Finally I heard her huffing (yes my almost 3 year old sometimes huffs), and groaning, and saying..

"OK! OK!!"

She stomps into the kitchen, shoulders slunched forward and sounding very much like she is 13...

"Mommy...you were irritating me! Im trying to watch my SHOW!!!!!"

This is one of those moments when you want to laugh SO HARD but instead you have to keep a stern face so they don't think what they just said was cute and worth repeating later.... To some elderly person at the grocery store.

I take responsiblity for this one. The other night after a very long frustrating day, I do believe I uttered that phrase after she interrupted one of my shows for the 83rd time. (My DVR was about to fry because I had pressed pause and rewind so many times.) If you have had a toddler before you know what I am talking about. If you haven't.. JUST WAIT!

*Note to self*
She is not like a sponge, she IS a sponge. Absorbs EVERYTHING.

Quick giggle:
Rylee got a Valentine's Day balloon and had been bopping it around my bedroom. Before bed last night I moved it into the corner by my dresser. (Didn't want to wake up and imagine a balloon shaped intruder in the middle of the night.) So this morning she wakes up comes down stairs, and the first thing she says in a very concerned voice...
"Mommy! How come you put my balloon in time out?"

A couple videos!

Karly started waving this past week! She waves HI when she sees someone and I "think" she is saying hi. Going to listen a little closer to make sure before I count it as her second word. This video is from feeding the ducks a few days ago with Mimi. (the first part is the waving, the rest is me trying to get her to do it again!)

Here is Rylee doing her dance that she loves to do to the music video at the end of 101 Dalmations. She had her blanket tied around her and was really "shaking her booty" (as she likes to say.) She cracks me up!

Should have just read her face

These were taken about a month ago.. I never shared them with anyone because the girls were not cooperating that day, and I didn't get any good ones. But as I looked back over them tonight, I couldn't help but laugh at Rylee's expressions.

It's Valentine's Day!

We are enjoying a nice relaxing day at home. Brian surprised me with a pajama-gram... (pj's delivered to your door). Can't wait to try them out! Rylee and Karly opened up some presents this morning. Mostly candy, a balloon, a book and they each got a DVD. Barney and Barbie Princess. I will let you guess which one is for who!

I have been slacking on posting... it has been kinda rough around here! Karly had double ear infections.. Brian was out of town for work. But we are getting back into the swing of things.. so I promise! More posting!

Karly has taken on a few really cute things this week!

-Waving hi is one of them. She sees someone and will start waving. At first she would stare at her hand like... what is this doing? Cool! But now she knows what it means! I have it on video which I will post soon!.
-Next she is learning patty-cake. She trys to pat her hands together.. they won't quite coorperate though. She keeps them clasped together but just moves her fingers for the clapping part! It is adorable.
-Third.. she has learned the phrase "bouncy! bouncy! bouncy!". She wildly jumps on command when I tell her that!
- And last I can think of right now is shaking her head no. She does it a lot. It started out by her mirroring us when we did it.. but now she does it all the time. I think she just likes how it feels

She is becoming a real cruising pro. Likes to walk around the table and go back and forth between the table and the couch. It isn't as scary to watch as it used to be. Getting pretty steady!

I will leave you with some more pictures.. Valentines Day style!

Tooth after tooth....

Karly cut the first 5 teeth with 10 days or so of each other. I kept waiting for her first one to pop through, then all of a sudden... they all came in at once. (My little freak of nature!) She has three on the top, two on the bottom. Rylee is fascinated with them. She wants me to pry her mouth open all the time so she can see. (Karly hates this)

She tells everyone:
"KARLY HAS TEETH!" and...
"She is going CRUNCH like me!"
And at home, when we are just sitting around, she will randomly say:
"Mommy.. who's baby has teeth?"
I play along and say:
"I don't know what baby has teeth?"
And she sticks out her thumb like she is a hitch hiker and jerks it in the direction of Karly and exclaims:
"OUR BABY DOES!!!!"

Here are some teeth pics..warning...it's not pretty getting her to show them!

And one evening, it was Rylee's idea that Karly needed to start brushing. She went off to find the toothbrush Santa left in Karly's stocking and they had a fun time brushing on the couch!

PS - #6 is about to pop through any time!
